MUSLIM UNITY WEEK ENDS IN ZARIA
The 9th Muslim Unity Week started Saturday 12th Rabiul Awwal 1433 H equivalent to 4/2/2012 at the Baqiyyatullah Husainiyya, Zaria. The Annual event is organized by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the revered leadership of his Eminence Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky (H)
According to the schedule, two sessions, evening from 4-6:00 pm and night from 8-10:00 pm daily were held in the first day. The topics of discussion included 'Lessons from the Islamic Awakening' and 'the life and struggle of Imam Ja'afar as-Saadiq (AS)' were presented by Professor Dahiru Yahaya of BUK and Sheikh Khidr Lawal respectively.
In his discourse on the current global Islamic awakening, the festschrift Professor of Bayero University Kano traced its roots to the revolution of Imam Husain (AS) at Karbala. The Imam (AS) rejected, out rightly, deception and injustice at the expense of his pure blood. Although majority of the Muslims continued to be in deep slumber, those that hold fast to the teachings of Ahlul Bayt AS, the holy progeny of the Prophet SAWA were awake.
