Xavi: Barcelona Should Sign David Villa

David Villa is worth the same as Kaka and Barcelona should try to sign him to help their quest for six trophies next term...

Xavi Hernandez believes that David Villa would be worth the same €60 million fee that Real Madrid paid for Kaka and wants to see the striker join Barcelona.

The Catalan midfielder is currently on international duty with the Valencia star while speculation rages about whether he will leave Mestalla - and if he does, where he will go to.

Barcelona are said to be vying with Madrid for Villa and Xavi thinks that he would be worth a huge outlay because goals could be guaranteed and that makes him worth the millions.

"Yes, without doubt. David Villa has goals in his blood and he worth that kind of money. What I want is for him to go where he will be happy, although I would like that to be Barca," he told AS.

Asked how much he himself would be worth in today's market after his man-of-the-match displays in the European Championships final and the Champions League final, Xavi gave a definite answer.

"I do not have a price because Barca do not want to sell me and I do not want to go. It is my home and my club," he explained.

Barca will not be resting on their laurels and will be aiming to win six trophies next season in a season that Xavi thinks will be more exciting due to Madrid's summer spending.

"Along with [Ronaldo and Kaka] and with Barca it will be the best league in the world. It is good for all of us," he continued.

"The competition will be stronger and the fans will enjoy it more and the press too. Next season will be exciting.

"I side with Iniesta and Messi as the best, but Cristiano and Kaka are not bad either.

"We will continue to win trophies. Because we have won the treble this season, next season we have three more to go for with the Interncontinental Cup as well as the Spanish and European Super Cups.

"We will go out to win all six because if you only aim for five or less then you could up with nothing.”

Manchester United Ready To Pay €60 Million For Sergio Aguero

The striker has been rumoured to be leaving the Vicente Calderon this summer...

Manchester United are reportedly ready to pay €60 million to sign Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid this summer.

The Argentine striker was not in great form last season but is still regarded as one of the best young talents in Europe and United are apparently keen to bring him to Old Trafford.

However, as was reported earlier today, Atletico have stated that they will not be accepting any bids for Aguero or Diego Forlan, so any offer would have to be above his buy-out clause.

Marca reports that since Cristiano Ronaldo is all but gone from Old Trafford, United are ready to spend the €60 million to bring 'Kun' in.

One positive factor for the English club is that they have a good relationship with IMG, who negotiate matters for the Argentine forward amongst others.

Apparently the player himself would not be against a move to United, and he would be an ideal replacement for not only Cristiano Ronaldo, but also Carlos Tevez.

The Argentine looks set to move to cross-city rivals Manchester City, leaving United short up front and in need of a new forward.

The Red Devils' plan is reportedly to talk to Atletico about a possible deal and to try and negotiate a suitable price for the forward.

If the Spanish club are not willing to sell for under the buy-out clause, then it is thought that United are willing to pay the €60 million fee.

Liverpool Beat Real Madrid & Barcelona To Signature Of Suso

The young Spaniard will join up with his fellow countrymen at Anfield rather than join the superstars at the Bernabeu...

Liverpool have stolen a march on Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona and secured the services of highly-rated Cadiz teenager Jesus Fernandez Saez, nicknamed Suso, according to Setanta Sports.

The broadcaster is reporting that Rafa Benitez's outfit have beaten the two La Liga sides to the 16-year-old's signature, with the midfielder signing a five year deal at the club.

Benitez has reportedly been monitoring the midfielder's progress for the last few months, and, with both Barca and Real apparently hovering with intent, he will be pleased to have snapped up another of his compatriots to further boost the strong Hispanic contingent on Merseyside.

Liverpool will pay a compensation fee to Cadiz, although no figure has been specified as yet. But it is anticipated that the Reds will pay much more than the amount officially required to take over the player's academy contract.

The signing should be confirmed by the club in the next few days.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Will Leave Inter For Chelsea

According to an agent, Ibra will end up playing for the Blues next season...

Over the past few days, speculation has been swaying back and forth regarding Maicon and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's future at Inter, with a whole cluster of clubs across Europe, from Real Madrid to Barcelona to Chelsea, frantically chasing after their signatures.

Inter president Massimo Moratti appears to have grown weary of all the head-spinining rumours and he looks resigned to losing his two star players.

"As a fan, of course I want to see them stay but as the president, with the book balances to keep in mind, I have to say that if they wish to go, then they can go," he told Il Giornale.

When he was asked to rate the chances of both Ibra and Maicon remaining in the Nerazzurri colours next season, he replied, "50 per cent chance. If anybody wants to sign them, they know the price."

Moratti then went on to confirm reports that Inter director Marco Branca had travelled to the Spanish capital to meet with Real Madrid chiefs Florentino Perez and Jorge Valdano.

"Branca's trip to Madrid was determined long ago and the reason was to talk about Maicon," he revealed.

"But fortunately, Florentino is barely interested in defenders."

Finally, Moratti reiterated that he did not recently fly out to Barcelona to close a swap deal with Blaugrana president Joan Laporta.

He said, "I went to see him because we are old friends and I wanted to know if it was true that he was interested in Ibrahimovic.

"He said that he was not certain, and I didn't not ask him about [Samuel] Eto'o.”
